Kul Sharif Mosque

Located in Kazan, Tatarstan Kul Sharif Mosque is one of the biggest mosques outside of Turkey. The 16th century building was later destroyed, but rebuild was finished in 2005 featuring astonishing LUICDE studio chandeliers.

The space itself serves mainly as museum nowadays, therefore we were asked to create a representative lighting objects in collaboration with the project designers. As a result LUCIDE studio equipped the space with over a hundred chandeliers and wall lamps enhancing the beautiful interior.

The variety of chandeliers goes from classical crystal baskets to pieces influenced by middle-eastern patterns and interior design. Many of the lamps are over two meters in diameter creating a great harmony throughout the space.

The main chandelier of the Mosque is an enormous masterpiece with innovative concept. It is nine meters high and has 5,5 meters in diameter. Two lotus shaped opening towards the ceiling are embellished by glass panels in shades of blue and turquoise. The bottom of each bloom transfer to a classical star embellished with crystal stones giving the chandelier the final spark.
