Lighting projects inside of a mall is nothing new for us at LUCIDE studio, but we were very excited to create this beautiful light installation at Salam Gate Mall in Qatar. The mall is known for its rich interiors providing an exceptional shopping experience.
Inspired by the ocean
We were asked to create a light installation inspired by the ocean and life underwater. This concept let to a creation of several crystal jellyfish with air bubbles around, giving the impression of swimming with them. In addition all of jellyfish are equipped with LED bulbs allowing them to constantly change color and mood of the space.
Crystal Jellyfish
Each Jellyfish is made of basket embellished by hand with hundreds of crystals and hand-sculpted twisted spikes creating a beautiful tail. They are surrounded by tens of air bubbles hand-blown in our atelier.
The second installation made for the Salam Gate shopping mall is a constellation of falling leaves made of shades of clear and golden glass. This airy construction is decorated with smaller air bubbles ensuring continuity between the the installations. Each leave was hand-sculpted in our atelier and carefully placed to create a breathtaking moment.
